Sound as space.
Repetition. Rhythm. Noise.
Deep listening.

Wissam Sader is a Lebanese-born, self-taught sound artist and electronic musician working across experimental music, sound art and electronic music. He currently works between Sweden and Berlin.

His practice moves between live performance, sound installation, field recording and DJ sets. Working with quadraphonic and multichannel systems, repetition, rhythmic structures and a wide palette of noise and tonal material, he treats sound as a space for reflection and deep listening — blurring the line between natural and man-made sound.

Much of his recent work grows out of field recordings made in Swedish forests. In 2026 he carried this soundscape practice across Southeast Asia through a series of performances, installations and listening workshops: 'Listening to the Forest' in Vilnius (Culture Moves Europe / Goethe-Institut), Manzi Art Space in Hanoi, The Observatory in Ho Chi Minh City, the Equation Festival at Mo Luong Cave in Vietnam, Decommune in Bangkok, and Ne'-Na Contemporary Art Space in Chiang Mai.

He has been awarded residencies at Studio Oposisi and Yes No Klub in Indonesia (2025, supported by Konstnärsnämnden), Centro del Silencio in Valparaíso, Chile (2024, Konstnärsnämnden), the Peripheral Unit in Sougia, Crete (2022), Can Serrat in El Bruc, Spain (2021), EMS Elektronmusikstudion in Stockholm (2020) and Budějovický Majáles in the Czech Republic (2018).

His work has been presented at acud macht neu, arkaoda, Sophiensæle, Silent Green Kulturquartier, spektrum and KW Institute for Contemporary Art in Berlin; Fylkingen in Stockholm; the Inter Arts Center and Inkonst in Malmö; and internationally at Teatre de Fusta and the Museu de Sant Boi de Llobregat in Barcelona. Alongside his own work he co-curates Grüntaler, a mobile project for the production and promotion of experimental music and related practices.
